Legendary Kenyan footballer Dennis Oliech claims French Ligue 1 club, FC Nantes, has requested he rejoins the team before the end of the year.
The 32-year-old striker played for Nantes in 2005 having signed a $3.7 million (Ksh.382 million) and left two years later after the team was relegated.

He has played for top flight clubs like Auxerre and Ajaccio. He announced his retirement from National football in March 25, 2016.
Oliech claims he will earn a monthly pay of 250,000 Euros (Ksh30.4 million).

“I landed a one-year deal with French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes, which will see me stay at the club till the end of 2018. I will return to Kenya in May, 2018 during the break. My monthly salary at the football club will be 250,000 Euros (Ksh30.4 million) a month. The signing will cost FC Nantes 4 million Euros (Ksh486 million),” said Oliech.

The former Harambee Stars captain says the one-year contract will span January through December, 2018.
Speaking exclusively from Dubai on Wednesday, October 4, Oliech said he was headed to Nantes for a medical.
Nantes is one of the most successful clubs in French football, having won eight Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France wins and attained one Coupe de la Ligue victory.

The club is famous for its je u à l a n a n t ais e (“Nantes-style play”), its collective spirit, mainly advocated under coaches José Arribas, Jean-Claude Suaudeau and Raynald Denoueix and for its youth system, which has produced players such as Marcel Desailly, Didier Deschamps, Mickaël Landreau, Claude Makélélé, Christian Karembeu and Jérémy Toulalan.

Prior to joining Nantes in 2005, Oliech played for Al-Arabi between 2003 and 2005.
Oliech also played for French side Auxerre between 2007 and 2012 on loan, before joining Ajaccio between 2013 and 2015. From 2015 to date Oliech has been playing for Middle East side, Dubai CSC.

Oliech was a trending topic on Twitter all of Wednesday when a section of Kenyans ridiculed him for looking “broke” after a picture of him and Coach Ghost Mulee went viral.

The 2002 CECAFA Cup Golden Boot winner, however, says he does not care about what people are saying online about him.“I have made news headlines – good and the bad – for ten years now. I have seen it all on mainstream and social media, and the online hate directed at me is not new. If anything, I do not consume gossip,” said Oliech.
