Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero, has said he spent Sh 2 billion to campaign for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in 2013.
Addressing a forum attended by over 20 ODM rebels on Thursday night at a Nairobi hotel, Kidero bragged how he helped Raila Odinga with campaign money during last year’s Presidential Elections.
“I funded 45 percent of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) campaigns. How can you say you will expel me?” Kidero fumed.
He also assured ODM rebels that he will not allow Raila Odinga to expel them saying he owns the party more than those who are calling for his expulsion.
“What has Otieno Kajwang done for the party to call for my expulsion? I am in ODM to stay and nobody will threaten us,” Kidero said.
The Nairobi Governor also defended his harambees saying he is obliged to undertake development projects to improve the lives of Raila’s supporters in Nyanza region.
“I have money to help poor residents of Nyanza and that is why I will continue conducting harambees in Luo Nyanza,” Kidero concluded.
